Position: Educational Engagement Coordinator, Commission for Jewish Education (CJE)


Reports to: Director of Family Outreach & Educational Engagement


Position Summary: 

The mission of the CJE is to enrich and strengthen Jewish life and education throughout the greater Palm Beaches.  Its objective is to offer compelling and creative pathways for Jewish life and engagement that strengthen meaningful and lasting connections to the Jewish community.

The Educational Engagement Coordinator is responsible for engaging, and maintaining interaction with families with young children for the purpose of encouraging commitment to the Jewish community as part of the Commission for Jewish Education (CJE), a department of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Engage target constituents through multiple outreach platforms with an end goal of encouraging their commitment to the Jewish community 

Coordinate, promote and track local PJ Goes to School initiative in both Jewish early childhood centers and supplementary schools. Provide professional development and connection to resources for educators involved in PJGTS

Work with both Early Childhood Directors and Educators Councils as related to educational engagement needs

Execute, attend and support collaborative family engagement and professional development programs and/or events as well as events in the wider community as required (this may include evenings, weekends)

Facilitate and track CJE’s Traveling Curriculum Kits, story walks and other educational resources in the community, coordinating these efforts as well as providing educator training and follow up for each one

Plan and implement educational workshops for educators, parents and grandparents

Work hand-in-hand with other Family Outreach & Educational Engagement professionals as well as representatives of collaborating community organizations and agencies

Foster relationships with donors, volunteers, program participants and community partners

Serve as a welcoming face of the CJE department and the Jewish Federation

Other functions as directed by the Director of Family Outreach & Educational Engagement or Chief Learning Officer


Qualifications and Success Factors


Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team-oriented atmosphere

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage multiple projects, with attention to detail and follow-up

Active understanding of the Jewish world, religion, tradition, and values

Creative approach to programming

Proactive attitude, takes initiative 

Strong organizational skills required

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Experience working with lay volunteers

Proficiency with MS Office suite, specifically Word and Excel, required
