Day of Awareness: Educating and Supporting Students with Disabilities
on Sunday, October 22 was the first of its kind in the Jewish community of the Greater Palm Beaches.
The Friedman Commission for Jewish Education gathered nearly 200 community members, families, educators and dozens of experts in the field of special needs education, early intervention, therapies and resources for this conference. The event was an important step in making the Greater Palm Beaches a more inclusive community for students with disabilities and their families.

One of the highlights of the Day of Awareness was a moving performance by jazz pianist and composer Matt Savage, who was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. Matt's mother, Diane Savage shared her journey through Matt's diagnosis and early intervention which impacted the course of his life. Click below to view a clip of Matt Savage's performance.
